I think this is one of the best, or maybe the best, of Levesque's books. But i'm telling you, every time I try to explain what the book is about to somebody, they look like I'm crazy. So, this book is really hard to summarize; he's dealing with a lot of issues: the effect of the internet on people; the corporatization of our lives; what makes someone's identity; can one live on after death in the interwebs. And much more. It was really suspenseful, and frankly, I was continuously surprised about where the book went. If you like cyberpunk in general, you'll probably like this book.Product details

Wow! A page turning mystery of suspense and drama of potential real-world consequences. The author has a strong effect to keep readers glued to the storyline. A must read.
The story is just amazing. The writing is very good with the far-out concepts being presented in a digestible way. There were times when I felt like I didn't understand what was going on, but the explanation soon followed. I very much enjoyed that style of leaving things unknown for the moment to tantalize me into trying to put pieces together and then following it up shortly with more information to catch me up. As the action moves along more understanding of what is going on comes. This is such a wild story and yet it seems so down to earth in its telling. I highly recommend it to science fiction readers and/or to those who like a good mystery.
Excellent cyberpunk story. It really dives deep into several concepts that made me think, which is rare in novels lately. Lots of twists and turns, treat yourself and jump in.
Sit back and enjoy the ride because you cannot predict where the story is going. The Somniscient is a joy ride that takes you where you least expect. But, you’re glad to be there. Richard Levesque intertwines betrayal, love, and sleep deprivation to present us with this unique story. After reading this book, you’ll be less inclined to take sleep for granted. Five stars.
Reads a bit like necromancer but easier to follow. Plausible future world where everyone is cyberlinked and corporations effectively rule.
A fast moving an interesting view of American society in the future when we have all become permanently connected to the internet and sleep has become the unit of currency.
I really couldn’t put this book down. It was a different believable twist on a future where government and “money” control society and the rich and powerful take full advantage. The characters were well defined and enjoyable or not. Highly recommended for science fiction fans who see how technology is strangling human interaction.
